- 為了進一步提升東武鐵道鬼怒川線的魅力，計畫推出使用蒸氣機車的觀光列車。

- 為此，我們從日本各地收集了各種國鐵（JNR）型機車、客車、守車和設備，並於2017年開始以“SL Taiki”和“SL Futara”的名義運營。

- 與蒸汽機車一同投入營運的DE10型機車是一台原屬於JR東日本的五軸柴油機車，其用途廣泛，包括客車和蒸汽機車的進出檢查、輔助發動機、牽引退役列車，以及牽引其他公司線路上的專列。

- DE10-1099型機車塗成朱紅色，而DE10-1109型機車則塗成帶有金色條紋的藍色，模仿了JR北海道牽引臥舖特快列車的機車。

- Yo5000（Yo13785）是日本國鐵停用後由其他公司保存的車輛，雖然進行了修復，但並未登記為車輛。該車目前保存在南栗橋工廠，在活動期間可以看到它被移動車輛在工廠牽引。
