●NO.DO.KA列車於2001年10月由Silphid列車改建而成，Silphid列車於2001年6月完成告別營運後退役。

●主要改造包括：拆除除觀景台外的所有座椅，鋪設地毯，以及在當時較為罕見地用車身貼膜進行外部翻新。

●保留了位於車底的發電機，使其在由柴油機車牽引時能夠進入非電氣化路段。

●其與榻榻米地板的「座敷列車」不同的內裝廣受好評，不僅在新潟地區，而且在東京都會區和東北地區也頻繁運作。

●從Silphid列車算起，該列車服役超過25年，作為NO.DO.KA列車服役超過15年，但最終因車齡老化於2018年退役。
