~ 117系列車是1979年投入營運的通勤列車，旨在改善京都、大阪和神戶之間的客運服務。

~ SUN Liner 是1989年3月投入營運的岡山至福山快速列車，後來更名為（Sunliner）。

~ 1992年，為增加班次，將多餘的117系列車投入使用，並採用了以白色為底色，飾以黃紅漸變色的全新塗裝，吸引了眾多目光。

~ 列車在改為單人駕駛後繼續運營，但後期塗裝逐漸簡化，最終於2016年停用了Sunliner塗裝。
