●E235系列是2015年3月在山手線上投入使用的新型通勤列車。

●截至2020年，該系列已投入使用50組，取代了先前的E231系列。

●與先前的E233系列一樣，主要設備採用雙機配置，並持續監控設備，以識別故障徵兆並快速應對，使其成為一款能夠有效應對異常情況的車輛。

●與E231系列和E233系列不同，在山手線上投入使用的該系列列車的線條顏色並非條狀，而是貼在整個車門上，這是其一大外部特徵。

●與2018年左右推出的列車相比，車頂護欄的形狀有所變化。
