● E235系列是2015年3月在山手線投入營運的新型通勤列車。

● 截至2020年，該系列列車已投入運作50列，取代了原有的E231系列列車。

● 與原先的E233系列列車類似，E235系列列車配備了冗餘的主設備，能夠透過持續監控設備並偵測預警訊號，從而快速回應故障，是一款性能可靠的列車。

● 與E231和E233系列列車不同，山手線投入營運的E235系列列車的車門採用全車廂塗裝，而非僅以條紋形式呈現，這是其外觀的主要區別特徵。

● 2018年前後投入營運的列車，其車頂飾條的形狀有所改變。
