~ E231系列列車是由JR東日本公司開發的通勤及郊區列車，目前在東京都會圈的多個直流線路上運行。

~ E231-500系列列車於2002年投入山手線營運。

~ 隨著E235-0系列列車投入山手線運營，E231-500系列列車被調往三鷹車輛中心，車身條紋也更換為黃色。

~ 此外，E231 Moha系列列車的部分底盤設備也在調車過程中進行了升級。
