●JR北海道的H100系列是基於JR東日本開發的GV-E400系列的柴油電動車輛。

●此車型於2018年投入使用，以取代北海道各地使用的Kiha 40系列。

●基本結構與GV-E400系列相同，但頭燈已添加到前窗下方，並且取消了電氣耦合器。

●該列車暱稱“DECMO”，目前在函館本線、宗谷本線、室蘭本線和根室本線運行。
